WELCOME TO THE BJØRNEFJORD — The Bjørnefjord area, near Bergen, covers the municipalities of Os, Fusa and Samnanger, with a population of about 19,000. Attractions include Ole Bull’s villa, accessible by boat. WELCOME TO HAUGESUND & HAUGALANDET — Haugalandet is the area of the County of Rogaland comprised of Haugesund, Karmøy, Utsira, Tysvær, Vindafjord, Bokn, Ølen, Etne, and Sveio. Site contains a description of the area, and information on museums, attractions, fishing, sightseeing for groups, events, and activities. Site is adorned with sharp and enticing photos. SIGHTSEEING IN MØRE OG ROMSDAL — Information on Nordmøre, the northern portion of the County of Møre og Romsdal, and the Romsdal district; photos and links. INDEX NORDMØRE — Offers links to local sites in Nordmøre, the northern portion of the County of Møre og Romsdal. "Country Holidays" is aimed at promoting bookings of vacation homes, but does offer a map of the region; a charming waterfront shot of Vikaneset, located about 25 min. from Kristiansund; and information on the area. There’s a link to a page spotlighting the Bergsøysund Bridge, a unique pontoon floating bridge between Bergsøya and Aspøya — "the first of its kind in the world (opened June 1992)." JOSTEDALSBREEN GLACIER NATIONAL PARK — Information on the national park that surrounds Jostedalsbreen, the largest glacier on the continent of Europe. The park includes the cities of Luster, Sogndal, Balestrand, Førde, Jølster, Gloppen and Stryn. The site includes information on glacier hikes, photos, a large map, and links. TROLDHAUGEN: NINA AND EDVARD GRIEG’S HOME — Situated outside Bergen, the summer home of the great composer and his wife is one of Norway’s top tourist attractions. The site relates: "Today, Troldhaugen is a living museum consisting of the Edvard Grieg Museum, the Villa, the Composer’s Hut, Edvard Grieg’s tomb and Troldsalen. The Troldsalen concert hall has seating for an audience of 200 people."

of Norway, also referred to as Troll Park, in the counties of Hedmark

very heart of the Olympic Region are majestic mountains surrounded by

AN ARCTIC ADVENTURE — Information on Svalbard, a Norwegian territory comprised of several islands located between northern latitudes 76 and 80, where the Arctic Ocean meets the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea. The population is about 3,000. Featured are shots of breathtaking scenery taken during a Polar expedition by "five guys." A site worth visiting. MY TRIP TO SVALBARD, 1995 — Urban Fredriksson’s diary-like recitation of his journey, with magnificent photos. One site visited, in Longyearbyen, was supposedly "the world’s only kindergarten with a polar bear proof fence"; another, in Ny-Ålesund, features "the world’s northernmost train, built in 1909, but, alas, inoperational." Fredriksson tells of the visit to his camp by an arctic fox, and walking on a glacier. It’s moved to a Geocities site and, obnoxiously, commercials flash on the screen. UNIVERSITY OF OULU SCOUTS SOOPA SVALBARD ADVENTURE — Journal of one of two units of a Finnish Scout 17-member guild which ascended mountains and glaciers in 1995 on Spitzbergen, the largest island of the territory.
